Accessibility Statement
Youth Guidance is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Youth Guidance’s website is designed to conform to WCAG 2.1, Level AA. Conformance means that the content satisfies the WCAG success criteria at that level.
What We’re Doing
We are working to ensure that this Site is accessible to everyone who visits it, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and voice-recognition software. Our ongoing efforts include:
- Providing meaningful alternative text for images
- Ensuring sufficient color contrast between text and background
- Building pages with clear heading structure and semantic HTML
- Ensuring the Site is navigable by keyboard alone
- Providing captions or transcripts for video content where available
- Testing pages with accessibility evaluation tools and, where possible, assistive technology
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content on this Site may not yet be fully accessible. This may include content from third-party tools (such as embedded donation forms, event registration widgets, or maps) that Youth Guidance does not directly control. We are working with our vendors and partners to improve accessibility across all parts of the Site.
